The Armchair Residency:

Spatial Exposure at the House of Art and Knowledge

Location: The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge, Canterbury
Dates: 01/10/2016 - 31/12/2016

Using The Beaney gallery and museum as a site for a drawn spatial intervention, this residency allowed me to continue exploring my interest in intuitive drawing processes and theories of Becoming, positioning myself as the resident 'Spatialist'. Through a series of live drawing performances, my intention was to create a series of drawings that sought to establish a new spatial narrative in response to the architectural characteristics of the building and the objects that it contains. Through a process of documentation, a series of films made on-site became the foundation for a series of site-specific drawings. Explorations of the site were also noted and written into a series of published blogposts.
